If talking about online versions of traditional media, most of all I like the website of BBC. Why?
- Partially - because I like this site for a long time and respect BBC very much.
- And because I was happy to be trained to product news by BBC's professionals:)
- But, if seriuos, I like this site because it became converged long ago. It offers products in different formats: Internet News,TV,Radio.
- It gives you a possibility to explore the site as you like - full version, text only or PDA/mobile.
- You can use this site in any of 33 languages.
- And, finally, BBC is BBC...
In the nomination "the best Web 2.0 resources in traditional media Blogs", the winner is... BBC Blog Network! To say the truth, from 6 offered sites I could really estimate 2: this one and NY Times Blogs. The rest were in Spanish, so they failed in my rating:)
The principle difference between BBC Blog Network and NY Times Blogs is the next:
- at the front page of NY Times Blogs there are only "editorial" text at every blog area which explains what is there in principle but it always starts with the same words: "NYTimes.com follows the day's news stories.."
- at BBC Blog Network the reporters share their thougts and information, and, despite the blogs are divided into groups like "sporteditors" or "reporters", they always start from the blogs, i.e. from the first lines of a concrete person's blog. It is always new and different.
